An Incredibly Easy Way to Stay Positive at Work
Staying positive
can be extremely difficult in today’s world. Simply listening to the daily news
is enough to bring most people down. Indeed, at times, it may seem like
negativity surrounds us. There is some good news, though. You can incorporate a
very simple act into your daily routine that will help you stay positive at
work.
Each day, before
you begin your workday, grab a small piece of paper and write a nice thought
down about someone you work with. Don’t put too much thought into—just jot down
the first thing that comes to mind. Perhaps that person is always on time, has
a great attitude, or never complains. Later,
when you see that person, work your positive thought into your conversation. For
example, you could say, “I don’t know how you manage to do it, but I never hear
you complain! I really wish I could have your patience.”
This strategy
only takes a minute to plan and a short time to deliver. Plus, you’ll be
surprised at how giving compliments to others will help you feel more positive
and upbeat.
“No pessimist ever
discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a
new doorway for the human spirit."
-Helen Keller
